Antalya is one of the most popular getaways in Turkey and all of Europe.
One of the biggest selling points is the perfect weather combined with perfect beaches.
But how is Winter in Antalya? Is it still hot? Can you still sunbathe?
These are really common questions people have when seeking a bit of winter sun.
Luckily for you, I’ve spent lots of time in Antalya at different points of the year, and I’m here to provide a complete guide to winter in Antalya.
So let’s jump right in!
Winter in Antalya
The main concern people have when visiting Antalya during Winter is the weather…will it be as warm as it is during the summer? Only the flip side, the two main advantages to visiting during the winter months are the lack of crowds and lower prices. So I have divided this section into three, covering each of these elements individually.
Weather
Being on the Mediterranean, Antalya has a reputation for being pretty damn toasty. Naturally, the weather in Antalya in Winter is going to be worse than in summer, that’s just how seasons work. But is it still worth visiting? In my opinion, yes.
The weather is much better than other countries in Europe – yes, Turkey is in Europe. So even though it is worse than summer, it is still better than other destinations. There is still a good amount of sunshine and the skies remain blue and clear, for the most part.
You might find it rains from time to time, but not too much. You can sunbathe for sure, but not all day every day like in summer. And it might take a few extra sunbathing sessions to get the tan you want, but all in all, the weather in Antalya during winter is pretty good. Take a look at the average daily temperatures in the table below…
Month | Average High / Average Low |
---|---|
December | 16°C / 10°C (61°F / 50°F) |
January | 15°C / 8°C (59°F / 46°F) |
February | 16°C / 10°C (61°F / 50°F) |
March | 18°C / 11°C (64°F / 52°F) |

Crowds
One of the biggest selling points for visiting Antalya in Winter is the crowds, or should I say lack of crowds. There are going to be very few tourists in Antalya at this time of year. It’s likely only going to be couples, mostly older couples who are retired. Which is great because there are no screaming kids around.
Over 1 million people visit Antalya each year, which shows just how popular of a destination it is, but the vast majority of these tourists are during the summer period.
This is amazing when it comes to exploring the town, lying on the beach, or doing any activities. I always enjoy places a lot more when it’s less crowded. I think you’re just able to enjoy yourself a lot more.

Prices
And from a business perspective, with less demand comes lower prices. And this is exactly what happens to Antalya in Winter. The price of flights, accommodation and activities will all decrease outside the peak season of July and August, and they are at their lowest during the winter months.
In the world of travel, tourism experts and all those jobs involved in statistics and analytics want to boost tourism at all points of the year in Antalya, so that’s why prices will go down to try and encourage you to go.
There are lots of special deals and discounts on offer, especially from hotels. You can often find a really good hotel for an affordable price. And on that note, let’s move onto the best hotel in Antalya which I would personally recommend to anyone.
Where to stay in Winter in Antalya
In my opinion, the best hotel in Antalya is a bit outside Antalya itself. It is the Seven Seas Hotel Blue. I’ve personally stayed here and really really enjoyed my stay. It’s all-inclusive and the food was incredible, there were so many options and lots of different places to eat too. Nothing beats a pool bar though IMO!
The rooms are really nice and the whole resort is dream-worthy, but one of the best parts is that the hotel has its own beach! Less than a 5-minute walk from your room and you have reached a semi-private beach that sums up Antalya. It’s beautiful.
And one thing I can’t miss saying, the staff here are so so friendly. I actually ended up making friends with a few of the waiters and bar staff despite them speaking limited amounts of English. They’re so helpful and really want to make your trip the best one possible!
❗ Planning a winter trip to Antalya? Make sure to book your stay at the Seven Seas Hotel Blue to ensure you have the stay of a lifetime!

Things to do in Winter in Antalya
If you are visiting Antalya in Winter, you might be wondering how much there is to do at this time of year. Don’t worry- there is so much! As much as in the summer months, and for a fraction of the price. It’s a win-win.
It’s up to you whether you stay in Antalya or not, but if you choose to go on a day trip, it’s super easy to get from Antalya to Cappadocia.
But here are 5 of the best things to do in the winter in Antalya itself.
1. Go scuba diving
In my opinion, one of the best things to do in Antalya is to go scuba diving. Turkey is one of the best countries in the world for diving, and some of the fish and underwater life you can see are incredible. Did you know you can see sea turtles if you take a Side diving tour? I’d recommend it to everyone visiting Antalya, but if it’s not for you, definitely at least give snorkelling a go. You won’t regret it!
❗ Planning a winter trip to Antalya? Make sure to go scuba diving for an unforgettable underwater experience.

2. Take a boat tour
There are lots of great boat tours from Antalya, but a personal favourite of mine is a boat tour to Suluada Island. It’s an island straight out of a movie, and you’re guaranteed to have your breath taken away when you see it for the first time. The tour makes for an amazing trip as there are lots of stops for swimming in the most beautiful water ever, it’s extraordinary!
❗ Planning a winter trip to Antalya? Make sure to take a boat tour to Suluada Island for an excellent day out.

3. Check out Duden Waterfalls
Duden Waterfalls is the most popular attraction in Antalya, and it attracts visitors from all over the world. Seeing the waterfalls in person is a completely different experience from looking at pictures, words can’t describe how incredible they are in real life. My recommendation is to take a tour of the falls which includes cable car trips, boat tours and lots of swimming!
❗ Planning a winter trip to Antalya? Make sure to take a tour to the Duden Falls, you won’t regret it!
4. Head to the markets
One of the best things to do anywhere in Turkey, including Antalya, is to head to the street markets. You can find some really nice souvenirs and clothes for really cheap, as well as delicious and authentic Turkish foods for really low prices. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s worth heading to the markets just for a day out!
5. Go parasailing
I’ve parasailed a few times but my favourite place I have ever done it is in Antalya. The views were indescribable. Most beaches in Antalya will offer jet skis, parasailing, banana boats etc., and they are all so fun to do. Flying through the sky in the warm weather with a nice sea breeze on your face, the beach smell and stunning views mean that parasailing is a complete sensory experience. I’d highly recommend it!
