Looking for things to add to your Las Vegas Bucket List?

You’ve come to the right place as I’m a full-time traveller and I’ve spent a week in Las Vegas where I had so many bucket-list-worthy experiences.

Visiting Las Vegas is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most people who go to the city.

But even though there are endless things to do, it can be hard to decide what to prioritise.

To help you, I’ve created a list of what I consider the “must-dos” after visiting Vegas for myself.

In other words, I’ve created the perfect Las Vegas Bucket List.

So let’s get straight into it.

Las Vegas Bucket List

All of these experiences are worthy of a spot on anyone’s Las Vegas bucket list. You might not be interested in all of them, but trust me, all of these are incredible experiences.

Whether you do one of them or all 25, you’ll leave Vegas with memories to last a lifetime…depending on how much you have had to drink 😂.

1. Explore the Las Vegas Strip

It wouldn’t be a true Las Vegas bucket list without the most simple, but also the most essential thing to do in Vegas: check out the Strip.

The Strip in Las Vegas has so much to offer. So many infamous hotels, casinos, attractions and other buildings to see.

If you’ve watched a lot of movies, you will likely recognise lots of the Strip. Buildings like the Venetian and the Stratosphere Tower are in hundreds of movies.

It would be a sin (no pun intended) to visit Vegas without exploring the Strip. You never know what you’re going to see either- Vegas is one of my favourite places to people-watch.

But I can’t share any stories, as what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas 😉.

2. Watch the Fountains of Bellagio

It would also be impossible to visit Las Vegas without seeing the spectacular performance of the Fountains of Bellagio.

The fountains go off every 30 minutes between 3 pm and 7 pm. Between 7 pm and midnight, they go off every 15 minutes.

Vegas truly does come alive at night, and the fountains are the perfect example.

They’re also completely free to watch, which is definitely welcomed since Vegas can get expensive at times.

3. Take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon

When visiting Las Vegas, there’s no debating that heading to the Grand Canyon is a “must”.

But did you know you can take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon from Vegas? Well, you can!

And it should be on everyone’s Las Vegas bucket list.

It’s an incredible and unforgettable experience. The never-ending panoramic views, the thrill of riding in a helicopter, and even flying beneath the rim, and true pinch-yourself moments.

4. Gamble at a Casino

Considering most people head to Vegas to gamble, I think it would be impossible not to include gambling in a casino on this bucket list for Las Vegas.

Even if you don’t want to gamble much, it’s definitely worth spending $10 just for the experience and to say you’ve done it.

Just make sure you gamble responsibly, and as the saying goes, “When the fun stops, stop”.

The Nevada Council actually have a gambling helpline, so make sure to use it if you feel yourself slipping into the rabbit hole.

5. Visit Fremont Street

Fremont Street is the most famous street in Vegas excluding the Strip, thanks to the Fremont Street Experience.

The Fremont Street Experience consists of a mall where you can find pretty much anything, and all sorts of entertainment are taking place.

It’s quite hard to describe. It’s very full-on and if I’m being honest, it’s a bit crazy. There’s so much going on but it’s fascinating to see.

There are even free concerts, free light shows, and more. If you’re looking for a bit of fun, then head straight to Fremont Street.

You can even take a walking tour of Fremont Street if you want to understand a bit more of what is actually going on.

6. Go to a Cirque de Soleil Show

There are hundreds of different Cirque de Soleil shows all around the world, but there’s no better place to see one than in the home of Cirque de Soleil, Las Vegas.

If you aren’t familiar, they are basically circus-like shows which tell a story through music, dance and acrobatics.

Watching a show is on most people’s Las Vegas bucket lists since there are so many different options to choose from.

Whether you want to see a Michael Jackson tribute or a Beatles tribute, you can. Want to learn the story of footballer Lionel Messi? You can. You can even see Disney movies as performances. Cirque de Soleil shows are amazing.

Make sure to have a look at all of the shows and spend some time considering which one to see.

7. Ride the High Roller

The High Roller in Las Vegas is one of the most famous and also one of the tallest observation wheels in the world.

It offers the best panoramic views over the Strip and beyond…it’s breathtaking. Especially at night when the Strip is all lit up.

If you want to book tickets for the High Roller, then I would recommend booking in advance as it’s one of the most popular things to do in Sin City- hence why it’s on this bucket list. These tickets also allow you to skip the entire queue!

It’s so worth it, you’ll get some unreal views and the chance to take some great pictures too.

8. Visit the Neon Museum Las Vegas

The Neon Museum in Las Vegas is an absolute must for your Vegas itinerary. This outdoor haven is a treasure trove of vintage neon signs that once adorned the famous Strip.

Think old-school Vegas charm meets dazzling lights, that’s what you’ll find here.

You’ll wander among iconic signs like the Stardust and Binion’s Horseshoe, each with its own fascinating history.

Like all of Vegas, there’s no better time to visit than at night, so make sure to keep an evening free to visit the Neon Museum.

9. Have a meal at Hell’s Kitchen

Did you know that Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen is more than just a TV show?

Admittedly, a very good TV show, but it’s still more than just a show.

It’s an actual restaurant which you can have a meal in while in the city, and if you ask me, it definitely deserves a spot on this Las Vegas bucket list.

Eating somewhere you’ve seen on TV is always pretty cool, especially when the food is as good as this!

10. Take a limo tour of Las Vegas

Taking a limo tour of Las Vegas is one of the most VIP things you can do on a trip to the city.

It’s such a luxurious and exclusive experience, it’s the epitome of a Las Vegas bucket list.

But even though it is expensive, I would encourage anyone visiting Vegas to spend the money. It’s worth it.

You get treated like royalty and get to see the Strip in style, with a personal photographer along the way. What more can you ask for?

11. Head to the Hoover Dam

Seeing the Hoover Dam is on many people’s travel bucket lists, let alone one just for Vegas.

And for good reason too- it’s a really cool place to visit with a lot of historical significance.

Aside from that, the Hoover Dam is also just beautiful. The views are endless and it’s a really quiet and tranquil spot to visit. Quite the contrast from the Strip!

Yet again, I consider it a must-do. And there are actually lots of trips to the Hoover Dam from Vegas, so it’s really easy to get there.

12. Visit the Mob Museum

The Mob Museum isn’t your typical museum – it’s a wild ride through the grit and glam of Vegas’ past.

Imagine rubbing shoulders with the real stories of mobsters, bootleggers, and lawmen who shaped the city. From interactive exhibits to legit artefacts, you’ll be walking the gritty streets of vintage Vegas in no time.

Picture yourself trying your hand at FBI surveillance or getting a taste of prohibition-era speakeasies – it’s history that’s seriously hands-on.

The Mob Museum is very immersive and makes you feel like you are actually there. But I loved it, and I’d recommend buying Mob Museum tickets to anyone!

13. Horseride through the Red Rock Canyon

One of my favourite things I did while in Vegas was go horseback riding through the Red Rock Canyon.

I loved it so much and even as someone who had never ridden a horse before, I felt like a true cowboy and really enjoyed it.

Most tours include a meal too, and some even include entertainment. Both are great, but for me, the views are the best bit.

It’s so picturesque and seeing the landscapes with my own eyes rather than looking at photos online was phenomenal.

14. Walk through the Bellagio Botanical Gardens

Even though it’s still quite popular, I would consider the Bellagio Botanical Gardens a hidden gem of Las Vegas.

Imagine stepping into a world where flowers, plants, and art come together in a jaw-dropping display that changes with the seasons. That’s exactly what the gardens have to offer.

It’s like Mother Nature decided to show off her painting skills. From vibrant spring blooms to enchanting winter wonderlands, every visit offers a new experience.

I’ve visited botanical gardens all around the world, but I’ve never visited botanical gardens like the ones at Bellagio. It’s next level!

15. Take a photo with the Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Let’s be honest, would it really be a Las Vegas bucket list without including the infamous Fabulous Las Vegas sign?

It’s a staple of the city, and when someone says Vegas, it’s what everyone thinks of (unless you think of gambling…).

The sign perfectly sums up the meaning of Las Vegas, and it would be genuinely impossible to visit without seeing it for yourself, and of course, taking a picture with it.

16. Take a helicopter tour over the Strip

Taking a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip is another exclusive and VIP-style tour to take while in Vegas.

After all, a bucket list is usually filled with things that are once-in-a-lifetime, and taking a helicopter flight like this one definitely is.

Flying over the Strip is indescribable, it’s special, magical and for me, it was a dreamy experience.

The views are even better than the High Roller, and to be honest, just flying in a helicopter is very fun in itself.

But all in all, I can’t not include it on my Las Vegas bucket list.

17. Attend a magic show

If you’ve ever watched America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent or any other talent shows, you’ll know what magicians always answer to this question:

“What’s your dream?”

Every single time, the answer is “To perform in Vegas”.

Vegas is the best place in the world for magic and illusion shows, and if you’re visiting Las Vegas, you simply need to go to a show.

There are so many famous magicians who perform in Vegas, and the Strip is home to lots of different venues to choose from. You definitely aren’t short of a choice!

18. Take a Gondola Ride

When someone mentions a gondola ride, you probably think of Venice, right?

But did you know you can actually take a gondola ride in Vegas?

Well, you can! Vegas’s canals are a unique way to see the city, but a very cool one to experience. Few people know you can even take a ride.

The Venetian offers gondola rides indoors and outdoors. It’s something a bit different, that most people who visit Vegas won’t do, but for me, that only pushes it higher up my Vegas bucket list.

Who wants to only do the same old cliche things? While they’re great to do and you do need to do them, sometimes it’s a good idea to do something more unique.

19. Have fun at a pool party

Vegas is known for a lot of different reasons, but one of the most fun reasons is pool parties!

There are lots of daytime nightclubs where you can party like never before, enjoying the Nevada sun while dancing away and splashing about in the pool.

The best way to describe the atmosphere at one of these parties is it’s like a festival vibe mixed with poolside relaxation.

A great combo, if you ask me.

20. Visit the Eiffel Tower Experience

Although the actual Eiffel Tower is obviously in Paris, the next best thing is in Vegas!

Vegas’ very own Eiffel Tower offers a really cool experience, the Eiffel Tower Experience transports you from Vegas right into the heart of Paris.

The elevator ride to the top and the view at the top will offer some of the best panoramic views you will ever see.

But it’s not just about the view – it’s the sensation of being in two places at once, all while savouring the thrill of Vegas. You’ll feel like you’ve hopped continents without leaving the Strip.

21. Take a trip to the Valley of Fire

Continuing the theme of natural beauty throughout this article, another really nice spot just outside Las Vegas is the Valley of Fire.

It takes about 45 minutes to reach the National Park from Las Vegas, but again, my best suggestion is to take a tour from Las Vegas.

The tour gives you a complete overview of the stunning national park and allows you to get a full experience of it before returning to Vegas.

It’s like visiting another planet. From fiery reds to deep purples, the Valley of Fire is like a canvas painted by the elements themselves.

And it’s a painting you want to see for yourself, so be sure to add it to your Las Vegas bucket list.

22. Kayak through Emerald Cave

One of the most popular excursions from Las Vegas is to go kayaking through Emerald Cave.

Emerald Cave is a beautiful attraction along the Colorado River, and it’s exactly what the name suggests.

It’s absolutely gorgeous and being fully surrounded by the glistening emerald walls as you kayak through is a magical moment.

Taking this excursion is so popular, that it’s actually one of Viator’s top things to do in Las Vegas.

23. Go offroading in an ATV

Would it really be a Las Vegas bucket list without exploring the natural sand dunes in and around the city?

And there’s no better way than by going offroading in an ATV (all-terrain vehicle).

They’re like a quad and allow you to go full-speed over the sand and honestly, it’s really really fun and I had the time of my life. I can’t believe so many people skip the opportunity to drive an ATV while visiting Vegas.

If you were planning to check out the natural dunes, I’d really encourage you to take an ATV tour instead.

24. Spend a night in the Venetian

Las Vegas is home to a ton of Vegas hotels, but one of the most famous is the Venetian Hotel which is known around the globe for being one of the best hotels in the world.

Well, if you’re taking a trip to Vegas, you may as well spend at least one night in the hotel.

A life of luxury and VIP treatment is hard to say no to, and even if you don’t spend the full duration of your trip at the hotel, I’d recommend spending at least one night.

And besides, booking the Venetian is actually cheaper than most people think. People expect thousands, but it can work out much cheaper if you are clever.

25. Enjoy the view from the STRAT Tower

Last but by no means least on this Las Vegas bucket list is to enjoy the view from the STRAT Tower.

The view from the tower is once again, one of the best panoramic views you will ever see. Vegas is home to a lot of things, but I bet you didn’t expect panoramic views to be one of them.

Each view is slightly different, and what I love about the view from STRAT Tower in particular is that it’s the second tallest freestanding observation deck in the Western hemisphere- so there are not many places better than this!

If you want to take it a step further, you could even do the sky jump, which deserves a place on a really extreme bucket list. Put simply, you jump off the observation tower in a harness.
